Dickie Lynn
Lewis
Dec 5, 1969 — Jun 5, 2018
We mourn the loss of our son, brother, and friend, Dickie Lynn Lewis, 48, of Fancy Gap, Virginia. Dickie was born December 5, 1969, in Lexington, KY, and was called home Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at the Twin Counties Regional Hospital in Galax, Virginia. Dickie was the son of Dianna Barker Leadingham and Kim Leadingham of Morehead, KY, and Leslie F. Lewis and Gail Lewis of Mt. Sterling, KY. He is survived by his parents; his son, Richard C. Lewis and family of Marion, VA; sister, Kimberly A. Cottle and family and Charles R. Burchett, Jr., and family, all of Clearfield, KY. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and two special cousins, Ricky Callahan and Jeremy Callahan, both of Mt. Sterling. Dickie spent the last eight years being loved by his fiancée, Karla Jones. They enjoyed their life together especially when it came to loving their grandson, Cameron. He was loved by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, and aunts. He was especially close to his Aunt Erlene Lewis of Mt. Sterling, KY. Dickie spent 30 years of his life as a free spirit, traveling for work, often doing what he enjoyed, working in the construction field. No matter where his travels took him, he always stayed in contact with his family to share a story or two. He was an avid fisherman and hunter who spent time in the outdoors and all it had to offer. He had a love of music, animals, family, friends and good times with all. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at 1 p.m. at the Family of God Baptist Church, located at 100 Poplar Lane, Morehead, KY, with Pastor Bobby Tackett providing services. All family and friends are encouraged to attend in support of the family. "If I leave here tomorrow would you still remember me? For I must be traveling on now, Cause there's too many places I've got to see…. But if I stay here with you, girl Things just couldn't be the same Cause I'm as free as a bird now And this bird you cannot change." --Lynard Skynard
