Deward Lavonne White, age 77, of Sugar Branch, Clearfield, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2015, at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington. Born January 7, 1938, in Clearfield, he was a son of the late Orville Clifton and Reba Lee Caudill White. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Wendill S. White, and one son Charlie (Bub) Donathan, who passed away November 24, 2009. Deward is survived by his wife of 39 years, Gennive Brown White, whom he married August 3, 1976; two sons, Danny Donathan of Mt. Sterling and James Donathan and Helen of Morehead; five daughters, Patricia Donathan and Sally White, both of Clearfield, Pam Christy and Billy, Shelley Green and Steve, Bobbie Withrow and Jack, all of Morehead; eight grandchildren, Wheeler Green, Taylor Green, Paul Donathan, Silas Donathan, Allie Donathan, Ethan Withrow, Amber Arnett, and Trista Calton, all of Morehead. Other survivors include one brother, Ronald Joe White and Patty of Morehead; three sisters, Ermagene Donahue, Geralene Porter and Larry, and Debbie Mabry and Dale, all of Morehead; nieces and nephews; extended family and friends. Deward was a farmer and avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hiking-usually walking 8 miles every day, hunting and fishing and watching U.K. basketball. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who lived for his family. He especially enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren and just spending special times with all the family. He will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be conducted 4 p.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Mike Atkins officiating. Burial will follow in Carey Cemetery. Pallbearers: Joey White, Kyle Caudill, Robbie Howard, Larry Porter, John Brown, Dale Mabry, Jack Withrow, Dwayne Flannery.
