Obituary

Dessie Mae Eldridge Kegley Cate, age 94, of Richmond, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2012, at the Golden Living Center/Golden Rule in Richmond, Indiana. Born February 28, 1917, in Bull Fork, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Hiram and Bertha Caudill Eldridge. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, James Luther Kegley; second husband, Allen J. Cate; daughter, Shirlene (Perry) Miller; sister, Sadie Tranbarger; and brothers, Roy, Troy, and Clarence Eldridge. Dessie is survived by one daughter, Kathleen Kegley of Richmond, Indiana; one son, Carmody (Shelby) Kegley of Cambridge City, Indiana; one sister, Dorothy Blake of Indianapolis, Indiana; two brothers, Delmer and Vencil Eldridge, both of Flemingsburg, Kentucky; six grandchildren; and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Dessie lived in Cambridge City and Richmond, Indiana, most of her life. She retired from Belden in 1979 and was a member of the Southview Church of the Nazarene and the Belden 25-Year Club. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, February 27, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with David Eldridge officiating. Burial will follow in Caudill Cemetery, Sharkey, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, February 27, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
