Derrick Lee Collins, age 53, of Dream Weaver Way, Morehead, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2016, at the U. K. Medical Center in Lexington. Born October 5, 1963, in Morehead, he is the son of Ronald Lee Collins and Carolyn Sue Caudill Collins of Morehead. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Lisa Kiser Collins, whom he married July 21, 2009; one son, Jason (Brittany) Collins of Morehead; three daughters, Jessica Renee Collins of Morehead, and Alisha Kiser and Amanda Lee Collins, both at home; one brother, Christopher Allen (Sarah) Collins of Wallingford; one sister, Greta (Gene) Gallagher of Olive Hill; and one grandson, Rylan Collins. Derrick was a 1981 graduate of Rowan County Senior High School and attended Rowan Technical College. He was a former Rowan County Board of Education school bus driver for 17 years, a former telecommunications employee, and for 30 years would set up a booth at local flea markets and was known as the 'Kentucky Junk Hunter.' Fondly known as 'Mr. Fix It' by his family and close friends, he enjoyed tinkering and fixing all types of appliances and collecting model cars and hot wheels. He loved spending time with his family and on holidays would welcome all family and in-laws to his house for dinner and good times. A memorial service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, December 18, 2016, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Bro. Herbert D. Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in Caudill Cemetery at Sharkey. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Saturday, December 17, 2016, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. Visitation: Saturday, December 17, 2016, after 5 p.m. at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Funeral: Sunday, December 18, 2016, at 2 p.m. Northcutt & Son Memorial Chapel Interment: Caudill Cemetery, Sharkey Road
