Derie Matthew "Matt" Caudill, age 62, of Little Perry Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2026, after an extended illness.

Matt was born January 28, 1964, in Morehead, a son of the late Everett Lee Caudill, who passed away February 10, 2003, and Gladys Ison Caudill, who passed away February 11, 2000. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Scott Caudill and infant James Caudill; one sister, Betty Trent; and the mother of his children, Donna Gee Caudill.

He is survived by three sons, Ricky Gee of Peasticks, KY, Dumplin Caudill of Morehead; and Todd and Samantha Caudill of Morehead; three daughters, Jennifer and Tony Shaw, Ashley and Joe Sallaz, and Amber Caudill, all of Morehead, and eight grandchildren, Hayden Smedley, Jaden Gee, Aaliyah Shaw, Tayshaun Shaw, J. J. Conley, Tinley Sallaz, Aurora Caudill, and Kylee Caudill.

Other survivors include two sisters and their husbands, Linda and Willis Glover and Judy and Gary Gulley, all of Morehead; one brother and his wife, Phillip and Charlotte Caudill of Lexington; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; extended family; and friends.

Matt dedicated 46 years of his life to truck driving, beginning his career behind the wheel at just 16 years old. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and cherished the time he spent with his children and grandchildren. A man of faith, he was a member of Three Pines Freewill Baptist Church in Olive Hill, Kentucky

A funeral service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Friday, June 12, 2026, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Gary Sparks and Brother Don Hall officiating.

Burial will follow in Caudill Cemetery on Old Sportsman Road, Morehead.  Pallbearers will be J. J. Conley, Tony Shaw, Joe Sallaz, Gardner May, Don Hall, and Tom Collins.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
