Denvil Lee Hanes, age 73, of Copperas Hollow, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at the St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. Born August 3, 1940, in Rowan County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Edgar and Elizabeth Adkins Hanes. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters, Pearl, Carolyn, Margie, Mary, and Joyce, and two brothers, Kenneth Hanes and Billy Hanes. Denvil is survived by his wife, Violet Whitt Hanes; one son, Brian Hanes; one daughter, Debra Brower; one sister, Nelma Riley of Morehead; four grandchildren, Kyle, Kristine, Heather, and Ricky; seven great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Denvil retired from Harold White Lumber after 30 years of service and enjoyed gardening, fishing, and squirrel hunting. He was a member of the Church of God at Rodburn. Graveside service will be conducted 3 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2014, at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with Brother Jerry Arbaugh officiating. Pallbearers: Jimmy Whitt, Jerry Stamper, Henry Whitt, Larry Whitt, Gary Whitt, and Tommy Oller. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. Visitation: Friday, April 11, 2014, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Funeral: Graveside Service Friday, April 11, 2014, at 3:00 p.m. Interment: Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens
