Dennis Kidd, age 82, of Blairs Mill, West Liberty, Kentucky, passed away Friday July 10, 2009, at his residence. He was born January 18, 1927, in Rowan County, Kentucky, son of the late Allie Kidd and Myrtle Wagner Kidd. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Donnie Kidd, and one sister, Willowden Easterling. Dennis is survived by his wife, Geneva Easterling Kidd; one daughter, Carolyn Lorraine Lewis and her husband Danny of Wrigley, Kentucky; two brothers, Junior (Marie) Kidd of Dayton, Ohio, and Glennis (Betty Jo) Kidd of Blairs Mill, Kentucky; and one sister, Deloris Trent and husband Ottis of Morehead, Kentucky. Mr. Kidd was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a former employee of the Kentucky State Highway Department as an engineer. He was a member of the Blairs Mill Church of Christ, where he served as a deacon. He also enjoyed farming. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, July 12, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jimmie Adkins officiating. Burial will be in the Blair Cemetery in Blairs Mill, Kentucky, with full military rites conducted by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126. Nephews and friends will serve as pallbearers. Visitation is after 6 p.m. Saturday, July 11, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, Morehead, KY.
