Obituary

Dennis D. 'Denny' Miller, 67, of Butler, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2015, at the Ann Arbor V.A. Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He was born November 15, 1948, in Decatur, Indiana, to Francis Wayne and Joan Julia (Colchin) Miller. He married Anna Mae Forman on October 8, 1971, in Jacksonville, North Carolina, and she survives in Butler. Denny was a Vietnam War veteran serving in the U.S. Marine Corps and later in the U.S. Army, where he was honorably-medically discharged with the rank of Spec/7 in April 1985. He graduated from ITT Tech in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, with a Bachelor Degree of Applied Science in automated manufacturing technology. After returning from the military and graduating college, Denny worked at the Indiana Institute of Technology in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and for Superior Canopy in Hamilton, Indiana. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved spending time with his family and extended family in Indiana and Kentucky. He enjoyed hunting, target shooting, watching old Westerns on television, 1960's oldies music; and he had a true friend in his beloved cat, Tommy. He was a member of the St. Michael's Catholic Church in rural Waterloo, Indiana. He was also a lifetime member of the American Rifle Association, DAV Baron DeKalb County, Indiana, Chapter No. 43, VFW in Decatur, Indiana. He was also a former member of St. Mary's Conservation Club and a member of the Corbie Ellington Morehead American Legion Post 126. In addition to his wife, Denny is survived by five children and spouses: Jeffery David Miller of Indianapolis, Indiana, Andrew Scott Miller of Indianapolis, Indiana, Patrick Wayne and Anika Miller of St. Joe, Indiana, Phillip Daniel and Kimberly Miller of Butler, Indiana, and Paula Denise Miller and her companion Daniel Cooper, both of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; two granddaughters; four step grandsons; a sister; two brothers; two nieces; three nephews; and numerous cousins. Survivors also include his mother-in-law, Liddie Mae Ramey Forman of Morehead Life Care Center; three brothers-in-law, Denver (Diana) Forman, Randall 'Randy' Forman of Rowan County, Kentucky, James 'Mike' (Sharon) Forman of Floyd County, Kentucky; five sisters-in-law, Rhodena (Robert) Forman Masys of Columbus, Ohio, Christine (Ahmad) Forman Asgharzadeh of Teheran, Iran, Linda (Randy) Forman Moore of Clearfield, Kentucky, Kimberly Forman Spencer (wife of the late Russell Spencer) of Rowan County, Kentucky, and April Forman of Midway, Kentucky; eight nieces; seven nephews; and a large extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Joan Miller, and his father-in-law, Paul Forman. Graveside services will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Sunday, December 20, 2015, at the Forman Family Cemetery on KY 519 in Rowan County with Brother Robert Kidd officiating. Full military honors will be presented at the graveside by Corbie Ellington Morehead American Legion Post 126. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 Sunday, December 20, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Corbie Ellington Morehead American Legion Post 126, P. O.
