Obituary

Delores 'Toots' Jamison, age 84, of Hillsboro Road, Hillsboro, passed away Sunday, June 29, 2014, at the Fleming County Hospital in Flemingsburg. She was born March 18, 1930, in Fleming County, a daughter of Grant and Fannie Mae Jones Jamison. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Elwood Jamison and his wife Emma and Darriel Jamison, and a great nephew, Steven Earley. 'Toots' is survived by Darriel's widow, June Jamison Rogers of Mt. Sterling; four nieces, Vickie Earley, Rhonda Burns, Loretta Turner, and Connie Updike, all of Mt. Sterling; two nephews, Woodie Jamison of Hillsboro and Scottie Jamison of Mt. Sterling; four great nephews; five great nieces; and three great-great nephews. Delores was always active in the community and was the longtime caretaker of Fairview Cemetery. She retired in 1983 from U.S. Shoe in Flemingsburg after 20 years of service and was a former employee of Beatrice Cream Company and Jamison's Grocery, both in Grange City, as well as a garment factory in Flemingsburg. She was a member of Fairview Christian Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 3, 2014, at Hutton Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Engle officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Family will serve as pallbearers. Visitation is from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at Hutton Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
