DeLois Perry Smith, age 87, a resident of Fountain Care and Rehabilitation in Winchester for the past 12 years, formerly of Moores Flat Road, Morehead, passed away Friday, October 23, 2015, at Fountain Circle. Born April 14, 1928, in Bangor, she was a daughter of the late W. D. and Lena Blane Carey Perry. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Elwood Cornett, and by her second husband, John D. Smith, who passed away December 8, 2005. DeLois is survived by one brother, Billy Ray Perry and wife Imogene of Pasadena, Texas; one sister, Norma Jean Smith of Timber Trail, Georgia; one stepson, Robert E. Smith and wife Barbara of Willard, Ohio; one stepdaughter, Debra Smith Herschler of Mansfield, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was employed by Seamless Tube in Shelby, Ohio, until her retirement in the late 70s. DeLois and her husband, John D. Smith, Jr., moved to Kentucky in 1978 to assist and be with her dad on the family farm located in Rowan County. DeLois was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion and VFW while living in Shelby, Ohio. She was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, October 29, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Harley Sexton, Jr., officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens next to her late husband John. Pallbearers: Jonathan Stevens, Dakota Plank, Arvis Padgett, Kenneth and Orville McClurg, and Kenneth Sorrell Visitation is 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. Visitation: Wednesday, October 28, 2015, 6 p.m.-8 p.m., Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Funeral: Thursday, October 29, 2015, 11 a.m., Northcutt & Son Memorial Chapel Interment: Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel
