Delbert Williams, age 78, of Chase Lane, Mt. Sterling, passed away Friday, March 18, 2016, at his home. Born March 31, 1937, in Jasper, Indiana, he was a son of the late Menifee and Emma Salyers Williams. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four siblings, Glenn Albert Williams, Ben Gilbert Williams, Beaurita Colley, and Juanita Johnson. Delbert is survived by his wife of 61 years, Edith Howard Williams, whom he married December 24, 1954; three sons, Delbert Jr. Williams of Mt. Sterling, Ronald Earl Williams of Jeffersonville and Donald James (Angela) Williams of Winchester; two daughters, Edith Larene (Ricky) Mangold and Marwrenda Gaye (Jeff) Williams, all of Mt. Sterling; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Delbert was a carpenter, farmer and school bus driver. He retired from the Montgomery County School system. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at the Jeffersonville Assembly of God with Pastor Tim Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Machpelah Cemetery. Pallbearers: Glenn Williams, Chris Mays, Eric Kerns, Bob Arnett, Robert Skaggs, Ray Isaac.
