Delbert Leon Perry, age 69, of Pond Road, West Liberty, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014, at his home. Born July 21, 1944, in Rowan County, he was a son of the late Leslie Lee and Laura Ellen Sargent Perry. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Edward, Ulysses, Rodrick, and Auttie Perry. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Irma Sargent Perry, whom he married February 5, 1965; two sons, Tim Thompson and wife Wendy of Wasola, Missouri, and Delbert Leon Perry, Jr. of West Liberty; one daughter, Zora Marie Dalrymple and husband Danny of West Liberty; five grandchildren, Leslie Deann Perry, Delbert Leon Perry, III, Vanessa Danielle Dalrymple, Ryan Scott Dalrymple, and Keisha Lorraine Stiner; and two great grandchildren, Devin Osborne and Keyin Kyle Stiner. Also surviving are two sisters, Zora Mae Perkins of Taylor, Michigan, and Clasie Marie Moore of West Liberty; several nieces and nephews; other family; and friends. Leon was a pipe layer for Local #1191 for 35 years. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, woodworking, four-wheeling, and spending time with family and friends. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Herbert D. Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in Day Cemetery on Minor Road, Wrigley. Pallbearers: Tony Sargent, Chris Sargent, Tom Perry, Allen Perry, Johnny Perry, Ryan Dalrymple, and Danny Dalrymple. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
