Obituary

David F. Thompson, Sr., 66, of Mansfield, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 1, 2016, following a lengthy illness. David was born on November 18, 1950, in Morehead to the late Clyde and Mamie (Glover) Thompson. He was employed at Mansfield Foundry (Ohio Brass) his whole life until the business closed. David enjoyed restoring cars and loved to go fishing. He is survived by two children, David F. Thompson, Jr., and Heather Thompson Blair, both of Mansfield, Ohio; one step-daughter, Betty (Darren) Stevens of Mansfield, Ohio; five grandchildren, Kymberly, Jordan, Blake, Destany, and Ariel; two step-grandchildren, Clarissa and Darren; two great-grandchildren, Lucas and Savannah; siblings, Mae Collins of Mansfield, Ohio, Ruth Miller of Benton, Kentucky, and Mildred Holbrook of Niles, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Barbara Thompson; three sisters, Bessie Stacy, Mary Sue Daily, and Wanda Ithel Sloan; and one brother, Frankie Thompson. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 8, 2016, at Northcutt and Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Bro. Monroe Craig officiating. Burial will follow at the Thompson Cemetery, Campbell Branch E. Road (Holly Fork). Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2016, at Northcutt and Son Home for Funerals.
