David Junior Smoot, age 62, of Ringos Grange City Road, Hillsboro, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at his residence. He was born February 9, 1956, in Hillsboro, and was the son of the late Hildreth G. Smoot and Lillie Walden Dyer Smoot. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Carolyn Virginia Smoot Williams on July 17, 2008, and a special canine, Sport. David is survived by his wife of 37 years, Brenda Claypoole Smoot, whom he married June 26, 1981; his faithful canine companion, Shirley Ann; extended family and friends. He was a lifelong farmer and mechanic who enjoyed fishing, gardening, raising tobacco, working on cars, and taking walks with his dog. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, November 3, 2018, at Hutton Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Engle officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers: Gerald Dyer, Ricky Smoot, Jason Robinson, Norman Smoot, James Smoot, William Thompson, Barry Thompson, and Jeff Claypoole.
