David Ray Roe, age 73, of Mt. Sterling, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 24, 2025, at St. Joseph Main Hospital in Lexington after an extended illness.
Born May 9, 1952, in Morehead, he was a son of the late Russell Austin Roe and Alta Elizabeth Turner Roe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Michael Wayne Roe; and five siblings, Glennis Brooks, Carl Roe, Butch Roe, Faye Kidd, and Rita Horvath.
David is survived by one son, David "Jason" Roe of Mt. Sterling; one brother, Robert Pemberton (Bobbie) of Ashland; three grandchildren, Cassie Roe, Dakota Roe, and Virginia Elizabeth Roe; three great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, as well as other relatives and friends.
David worked in construction, specializing in electrical and plumbing. He also repaired small engines, but more than anything, he loved tinkering and fixing things in his own unique way. David was baptized into the Church of God faith and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel, with Jeff Barker officiating. At a later date, inurnment will be at McBrayer Cemetery in Elliottville.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to a food pantry of your choice.
