Obituary

David C. Radez, age 68, of Morehead, died on June 5, 2014, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. Born April 23, 1946, in Cobleskill, NY, he was the older son of the late John E. and Cora D. Radez. He graduated from Union College, Schenectady, and received a master's degree from Cornell University. He was a hospital administrator in New York City before practicing as a real estate broker in NYC, where he earned a Certificate in Real Estate Studies at New York University. Upon moving to Lexington, Kentucky, in 1982, he was a founder of Money Matters, Inc., where he served as financial planner and owner until retirement and closure of the firm in 2009. While in Lexington, he was Treasurer of AVOL, president and board member of the Ashland Park Neighborhood Association, president of the Kentuckiana Chapter of the Institute of Certified Financial Planners, and a member of the Bluegrass Estate Planning Council. After retirement from Money Matters, he surrendered his license as a Kentucky Health and Life Insurance Agent and his certification as a financial planner. He is survived by his companion of more than 40 years, Albert J. Smith, Jr., of Morehead and probably his younger brother Jon, last known to be in Myrtle Beach, SC. Distant kin are spread around the country. As his request, there were no services. Inurnment was at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Columbarium.
