Arlie David Lykins, age 57, of Flemingsburg Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2011, at the residence of his mother. He was born November 27, 1953, in Johnson County, Kentucky, and is the son of Louedith Conley Lykins Litton, of Morehead, Kentucky, and the late Arlie Lykins. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Terry Howard Lykins. In addition to his mother, Louedith, David is survived by one daughter, Lakita Lykins Newsom and her husband Kevin of Auburn, Alabama; four sisters and their husbands, Vivian and Carter Conley of Salyersville, Kentucky, Sue and Gary Ferguson of Flat Gap, Kentucky, Gaye and Mike Harmon of Owingsville, Kentucky, and Cristy and Tom Copley of Louisa, Kentucky. Other survivors include six nieces and nephews, J. D. Conley and his wife Beth, Robbie Conley, Tyler Ferguson and his wife Andrea, Miranda Ferguson, Hannah Harmon and Elizabeth Harmon; one great nephew, Aidyn Layne Ferguson; other relatives; and many friends. David, a self-employed contractor and heavy equipment operator, was most recently known for his work at the new Morehead-Rowan County Regional Airport. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends. David was a Christian and ministered to many in Magoffin, Johnson, and Floyd counties for a number of years. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Rev. Winston McClurg and Rev. Billy Harmon officiating. Burial will follow in the Conley Cemetery, Oil Springs, Kentucky. Pallbearers: Tom Copley, Tyler Ferguson, Gary Ferguson, Robbie Conley, Dewayne -Bannie- Blair, Mark Hendrix, Gary Caudill, Kevin Newsom, and Phillip Caudill.
