David Hicks, age 57, of Old Flemingsburg Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2011, at his residence. He was born October 25, 1953, in Shelby, Ohio, son of the late Ollie Lee and Essie Jerrells Hicks. David is survived by two sons, Sammy Hicks, and his fianc-e Janie Wallace, and Corbin Hicks, all of Morehead, Kentucky; the mother of his children, Shelia Wooten Hicks of Morehead, Kentucky; one brother, Earl Hicks of Clearfield, Kentucky; one sister, Maggie Long of Campton, Kentucky; and a cousin, Norma Gay Loveless of Morehead, Kentucky David proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed collecting knives, fishing, and building cabinets, shelves, and other wooden crafts. Graveside services and burial will be conducted 10 a.m. Thursday, June 2, 2011, at the Baldridge Cemetery on Morgan Fork Road with the Rev. Mark Caldwell officiating. Full military honors will be presented by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
