David Wayne Ballard, 51, of Hwy. 1050, Jeffersonville, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2012. He was born January 25, 1961, in Clark County, Kentucky, a son of Naomi Bennett Ballard Wingard of Winchester, Kentucky, and the late Earl W. Ballard. David is also survived by his wife of 24 years, Sandra Bartley Ballard; one daughter, Ciera Dawn Hurt and her husband Ryan; one son, Brandon James Ballard; and one granddaughter, Mattie Rylan Hurt, all of Jeffersonville, Kentucky; two brothers, Kenneth Ballard and Randy Ballard, both of Winchester, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews. David attended Morehead State University, Eastern Kentucky University, and the University of Kentucky. A graduate of Winchester Beauty College, he had been a self-employed barber for 35 years. He had also served as a Jeffersonville City Commissioner for more than ten years. David was a member of the Jeffersonville Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at Jeffersonville Baptist Church with Brother Scott Barnes and Rev. Paul Hubbs officiating. Burial will follow at the Miller Cemetery. Pallbearers: Thomas Ballard, Ryan Hurt, David Oney, Chuck Bartley, Gary Sams, Mike Bennett, Ricky Bennett, Gerald Lane. Visitation is from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Monday, June 4, 2012, at the Jeffersonville Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
