David Lee Adams, age 64, of Sunset Road, Hillsboro, Kentucky, formerly of Sharkey Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Monday, October 5, 2009, at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. Born July 22, 1945, in Carthage, Indiana, he was the son of the late Richard Lee and Virginia Ruth Riley Adams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Jo Adams in 1979, and a brother, Terry Adams in 1994. He is survived by his wife, Judy Johnson Adams, whom he married April 12, 1963; one son: David Jr. (Kelly) Adams of Athens, Tennessee; five daughters: Cheryl (Tim) Plank of Hillsboro, Kentucky; Robyn (Joe) Cline of Morehead, Kentucky; Lori (Greg) Orcutt of Olive Hill, Kentucky; Kimberly Hope Adams of Morehead, Kentucky; and Angie (Jason) Henley of Morehead, Kentucky; 14 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Other survivors include four brothers: Tommy Adams, Jerry Adams, Archie -Duke- Adams, and Ronnie Adams, all of Morehead, Kentucky; one sister, Sarah Adams of Morehead, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews. David was the owner of Adams Sales & Service for 30 years specializing in heating and air conditioning, appliance repair, and electrical work. In 1986, he became the founder and pastor of the City of Refuge Full Gospel Church in Olympia, Kentucky. David enjoyed farming, and spending time with his family, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and church family. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, October 8, 2009, at the City of Refuge Full Gospel Church, with the Rev. Winston McClurg, Rev. Mike Munday, and Rev. Marlin Corey officiating. Burial will follow in Adams-Plank Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals and from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Thursday, October 8, 2009, at the City of Refuge Full Gospel Church in Olympia.
