Darlene Sue Sloan Keeton, age 70, of Brinegar Road, Olive Hill, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2022, at St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.

Born January 26, 1952, in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late Tommy Sloan and Opal Yuvonne Nickell Sloan.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Larry Junior Keeton, on March 13, 2020.

She is survived by one son, Phillip Keeton and his wife Trina of Morehead; one daughter, Victoria Byers of Olive Hill; two grandchildren, Trevor and Michaela; one brother, Donald Joe Sloan and his wife Pamela of Olive Hill; nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Darlene was a homemaker and a devoted member of the Apostolic faith where she loved to sing in church and preach. She enjoyed listening to gospel music, gardening, and cooking. She loved her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Visitation for close friends and family will be from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, January 2, 2023, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351 with a graveside service immediately following at Sloan Cemetery on Brinegar Road with the Rev. David Keeton officiating.

Pallbearers:  Phillip Keeton, Trevor Keeton, Ronnie Sloan, Kevin Conn, David Keeton, and Spike Mynhier.
