Danny Thomas Hawkins, age 61, of Ringos Mill Road, Hillsboro, passed away Thursday, October 22, 2015, at U. K. Medical Center in Lexington. Born November 18, 1953, in Hillsboro, he was a son of the late Eugene Thomas and Mildred Collins Hawkins. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Juanita Riggs of Maysville and Leota Jett of Wallingford. Danny is survived by his wife of 40 years, Loretta Souder Hawkins, whom he married April 11, 1975; one son, Daryl Hawkins and wife Ashley of Hillsboro; three brothers, Ricky Hawkins and Mike Hawkins, both of Hillsboro, and Curtis Hawkins of Tilton; two sisters, Margie Johnson of Gary, Indiana, and Barbara Dye of Flemingsburg; several nieces and nephews; and two grand puppies, Bailey and Pepper Jack. He graduated from Fleming County High School and completed an associate degree at Morehead State University. Danny was a sales associate at the Morehead Wal-Mart and a member of the Tilton United Methodist Church where he was Superintendent and Sunday school teacher. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, October 26, 2015, at Tilton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gaylord Gillespie and Pastor Gail Skaggs officiating. Burial will follow in Hillsboro Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gene Burton, Jerry Neal, Charlie Glascock, Kenny Souder, Chris Sorrell, and Tommy Lambert. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremy Hawkins, Brandon Hawkins, Dustin Hawkins, Blake Hawkins, and Brian Carlson.
