Danny Edward Christ, age 68, of Morehead, known as "Cactus Jack" to everyone, passed away September 28, 2017, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. He was born June 28, 1949, in St. Louis, MO, and is the son of Lillian Irene Headrick Christ of St. Paul, MN, and the late Leonard Gustave Christ. In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Julie Christ of Underwood, MN; two grandchildren, Amy and Travis King; one sister, Kathleen Christ of Morehead; two brothers, Leonard Christ, Jr. of Elk River, MN, and Charles Christ of San Diego, CA; many nieces and nephews; extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father; one son, Jeremiah Christ; and one brother, Terry Lee Christ. "Cactus Jack" was a former employee of the California State Highway Department in Carlsbad and moved to Morehead four years ago to live with his sister. Family members referred to him as the rolling stone as he was always adventurous and enjoyed living life to the fullest. He loved moving around the country visiting and living with family and friends in the area. In spite of personal tragedies, including the death of his son that saddened him forever, Danny continued to display his overwhelming sense of humor. Loved by all, he enjoyed making others happy and was the perfect "jokester." "Cactus Jack" gained fulfillment from his great nieces and nephew with whom he lived and shared special love and memories, Kyla, Dylan and Maddie; his constant German Shepherd companion, Mojo; feeding the birds; listening to all kinds of music; and during the last four years perfecting various wood carvings and crosses. His great sense of humor and compassion for others will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Anoka, MN at a later date.
