Daniel Lee Jefferson, age 65, of Pond Lick Road, Morehead, passed away Friday, December 5, 2014, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. Born December 5, 1949, at Foxport in Fleming County, he was the son of the late Junior Lee and Carrie Roberts Jefferson. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn Jefferson Pinnerud. Daniel is survived by three sons, Joseph Lee and Crystal Jefferson, Jason Wayne Jefferson, and Robert Perry Jefferson, all of Morehead; the mother of his children, Carol Plank Jefferson Bushey of Morehead; and four grandchildren, Alex, Derek, Morgan, and Tanner Jefferson. Other survivors include two brothers, David and Oleta Jefferson of Vanceburg and James and Judy Jefferson of Clearfield; three sisters, Wanda Catherine and Ival Ison of Morehead, Nola Jefferson Josleyn of Crescent City, Florida, and Anna Mary and Donnie Plank of Morehead; nieces and nephews; extended family; and friends. Daniel served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. In 2008, he retired as a heavy equipment operator from Spade Corporation in Georgetown. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with family, and playing video games with his sons and grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Elder Cephas Littleton officiating. Burial will follow in Caudill Cemetery on Old Sportsman Road with full military honors by Morehead American Legion Post 126. Pallbearers: Jamie Jefferson, Eddie Ison, Anthony Jefferson, Tyler Rowe, Alex Jefferson, Dan Pinnerud.
