Daniel Lyle Brewer

Daniel Lyle Brewer, age 83, of Morehead, husband of Linda Johnson Brewer, died August 5, 2026, at UK HealthCare in Morehead.

Dan was born March 24, 1943, in Des Moines, Iowa, to the late Emery and Audrey Whitney Brewer. In addition to his wife Linda, survivors include sons John Brewer of Allen Texas and Paul Brewer of Newark, Delaware; grandchildren Nicole, Colton, Xander and Zachary; and great-grandchildren Aubrey and Riley. Also surviving are sister Donna Walker of Sierra Vista, Arizona, and brothers James Brewer of Stuart, Iowa, and Jess Brewer of Des Moines, Iowa.

After graduating from Iowa State University, Dan Worked for the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife, first as a Fisheries Research Biologist (1967-1972) in Frankfort, KY, and then as the first Hatchery Manager (1972-1999) of Minor Clark Fish Hatchery near Morehead, KY,

A private graveside service will be held Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at 11 a.m. at New Alfrey Cemetery with the Rev. David Hale officiating.

Pallbearers: Rod Middleton, Pete Besant, Mike Buckler, Fred Howes, Chad Nickell and David Hale.
