Curtis Lee Trent, age 71, of Elliottville, passed away Friday, December 19, 2014, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. He was born June 3, 1943, in Elliottville, a son of the late Phillip and Ethel Matthews Trent. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Emil, Cebert, Dennis, Emerson, and Thurman Trent; two sisters, Victoria Davis and Faye Stover; and one grandson, Chad Brown. Curtis is survived by his wife, Clara Lou Clevenger Trent, whom he married December 24, 1966; two sons, Kevin (Tamie) Trent and Jamie (Courtney Moore) Trent, all of Elliottville; three daughters, Vicky (Ray) Baldridge of Elliottville, Trena (Bobby) Frederick of Morehead, and Christy (Bobby Seivers) Trent of Olive Hill; six grandchildren, Logan and Ayden Hatfield, Haley and Dakota Frederick, Hagan Baldridge, and Tana Black; and two great grandchildren, Chandra Black and Tyler Crawford. Other survivors include two sisters, Elnora McDaniel of Ypsilanti, Michigan, and Jean Noe and husband Bert of Harlan, as well as nieces, nephews, other family members; and friends. Curtis was a self-employed logger and carpenter. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, woodworking, playing music, and watching western movies. Funeral services will be conducted at 5 p.m. Monday at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Lansford May and Brother Lonnie Conn officiating. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until the service at 5 p.m. Monday, December 22, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
