Curt Adkins, age 85, of U.S. 60 East, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Friday, April 25, 2014, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center. He was born October 12, 1928, in Elliott County, Kentucky, a son of the late Clifford and Elizabeth Elliott Adkins. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Ivin Adkins, Sr., Maxie Adkins, and Avery Adkins, and two sisters, Ithel Minix and Eva Adkins. Curt is survived by his wife of 43 years, Patricia J. Perez Adkins; one daughter, Mechelle Marie Griffin and husband Donald of Spring Hill, Florida; one stepson, Michael Allen Ockerman and wife Stephanie of Morehead, Kentucky; and one grandson, Blake Griffin. Other survivors include two brothers, Beecher Adkins of Morehead, Kentucky, and Garland Adkins of Sandy Hook, Kentucky; and one sister, Arlene Walton of Ezel, Kentucky. Mr. Adkins was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a retired self-employed roofer. Visitation is 6 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals with a memorial service at 7 p.m. officiated by Paul Semisch. Military honors will be conducted by Morehead American Legion Post 126 immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, St. Claire Hospice, or Morehead American Legion Post 126. Arrangements are under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. Visitation: Thursday, May 1, 2014, from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. Funeral: Thursay, May 1, 2014, at 7 p.m.
