Cora Lee Tackett Fields, age 84, of Jacks Drive, Wellington, formerly of Island Creek, Pikeville, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2014, at her home. Born March 5, 1930, in Pikeville, she was the daughter of the late Perry and Jettie Fields Tackett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin Coolage Fields and one grandson, Cylis Fields. Mrs. Fields is survived by two sons, Ervin Shawn Fields and Carl Lee Fields, both of Wellington; one daughter, Juanita Birchfield of Salt Lick; two brothers, Kennel Tackett of South Gate, Michigan, and Charles Tackett of Tennessee; three grandchildren, Angel (James) Short, Trinity Fields, and Madison Fields; and one great granddaughter, Alexis Short. Cora Lee was a homemaker and former cook at the Pike County School System. She enjoyed cooking, flower and vegetable gardening, and caring for others. She was an affiliate of the Old Regular Baptist Church. An Old Regular Baptist Church funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Sunday, August 31, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Elder James Young and others officiating. Burial will follow in Fields Family Cemetery in Morgan View, Menifee County. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Friday, August 29, 2014, and anytime Saturday, August 30, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. Visitation: Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, after 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014, anytime Funeral: Sunday, August 31, 2014, at 10 a.m. Interment: Fields Family Cemetery in Morgan View, Menifee County
