Connie Sue Haney Waddell, age 66, passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday, August 9, 2020, and went to be with Jesus. She was born in Morgan County on April 8, 1954, to the late Elmo Lavern and Dora Gregory Haney.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Phillip Issac Waddell; two sisters, Sheila Diane Haney and Bonnie Lou Haney Collins; and a nephew, Adam Ray Holbrook.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond Meredith Waddell, Sr., whom she married January 29, 1972; a son, Raymond Meredith Waddell, Jr. and wife Samantha of Olive Hill; a daughter, Lanetta Dawn Waddell Winkleman and husband Richard of Morehead; a daughter-in-law, Misty Waddell-Plank and husband Robert of Olive Hill; and five grandchildren, Madison Winkleman, Garrett Waddell, Jacob Waddell, Morgan Waddell, and Chloe Williams.
Connie was a devoted mother, homemaker, and caregiver and was a member of Calvary Temple Apostolic Church. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, reading, taking care of others, and especially spending time with her family. She will be sadly missed.
In Connie's eyes, family was her greatest joy.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2020, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Daniel Long officiating. Burial will follow in Merida Waddell Cemetery, Route 504, Olive Hill.
Pallbearers: Richard Winkleman, Robert Plank, Levi Berry, Mathew Lewis, Trey Barber, Garrett Waddell, Morgan Waddell, and Jacob Waddell.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, August 11, 2020, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
COVID-19 restrictions as set forth by the state will be observed.
