Obituary

Clifford Denver Wooten, age 82, of Warren Lane, Morehead, passed Sunday, January 11, 2015, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington after an extended illness. Born May 15, 1932, in Knott County, he was a son of the late Henry Harrison and Delphia May Burge Wooten. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Paul, Corby, Earl, and Clyde Wooten, and five sisters, Maude Wooten Cassity, Geneva Wooten McClurg, Janetia Wooten, Rosa Wooten McClurg, and Lavern Wooten Winzer. Clifford is survived by his wife of 61 years, Darlene Warren Wooten, whom he married September 5, 1953; three brothers, Samuel (Brenda) Wooten and Charles Wooten, all of Morehead, and David (Joanna) Wooten of Muncie, Indiana; two sisters, Beverly Chapman and Sharon Blevins, both of Morehead; four brothers-in-law, Willard (Wanda) Warren, Jr., Marvel (Bev) Warren, Claude (Lorna) Warren, and Jeff (Dawn) Warren, all of Morehead; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Clifford served in the U. S. Army for two years during the Korean War and retired from the Ontario Company in Muncie, Indiana, after 33 years as a tool and die maker. After moving back to Kentucky, he was a former employee of the Kentucky Forestry Department and Rowan County Board of Education. He was a born again child of God who loved and served the Lord with all his heart and used his music for God's glory. Clifford was a member of the Siloam Church of God and enjoyed photography, playing music, spending time with friends and family, especially the love of his life Darlene. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, January 15, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Lansford May and the Rev. Jerry Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Siloam Cemetery with full military honors by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126. Pallbearers: Eddie Chapman, Dalton Warren, Shane Warren, Chase Hall, Tyler Ashley, Zach McGlone, and Jacob McGlone. Visitation is after 4 p.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. Visitation: Wednesday, January 14, 2014, after 4 p.m. Funeral: Thursday, January 15, 2015, at 1 p.m. Interment: Siloam Cemetery
