Clifford E. Davis, age 84, of Muncie, Indiana, formerly of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, February 15, 2009, at Willowbend Living Center in Muncie. Born September 15, 1924, in Gary, Indiana, he was the son of the late Cardie and Jessie Sparks Davis. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jane Davis, and a brother, James Clyde Davis. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Wanda F. White Davis, whom he married October 2, 1953; three daughters, Nancy Justus of Muncie, Indiana, Margie Buffin and husband Tony of Elkton, Florida, and Judy Zehrung and husband Dave of Ottawa, Illinois; seven grandchildren, Shane, Ross, Tammi, Aimee, Kari, Ashley, and Kelsey; and five great-grandchildren, Branon, Nathan, Kyle, Haley, and Andrew. Other survivors include two sisters, Susan Wellinger of Morehead, Kentucky, and Helen Kuntz and husband Pat of Kettering, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews. Clifford was raised in Morehead, Kentucky, and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. After the war, he moved to Muncie, Indiana, and retired from General Motors in 1986 after 36 - years at Delco Battery. He attended Bethel United Baptist Church. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 19, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Elder Cephas Littleton officiating. Burial will follow at the Blanton-White Cemetery on Rock Fork Road, Morehead, Kentucky, with full military rites conducted by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126.
