Obituary

Clifford Casey, age 70, of Maxey Flat, Hillsboro, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, October 21, 2012, at the U. K. Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born June 7, 1942, in Phelps, Kentucky, a son of the late Anderson and Lena Stump Casey. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers, Shorty, Junior, Anthony, Thomas, Ermel, Glen, and James Casey, and two sisters, Hazel Smith and Sadie Thorpe. Clifford is survived by one son, Clifford Michael Casey and wife Tammy of Hillsboro, Kentucky; two daughters, Sherry Lynn Smith and Audrea Lena Casey, both of Phelps, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Gregory Michael Smith, Megan Michell Smith, and Tara Brook Casey; five great grandchildren, Kendrick Prater, Ian James Cox, Ethan Cash Cox, Ashtyn Brianna Blakley, and Aidan O'Brien Sullivan. Other survivors include four brothers, Earl Casey, George Casey and Clinton Casey and wife Joanne of Clay City, Kentucky, and Earnest Casey of Cynthiana, Kentucky; one sister, Sharlene Taylor and husband Allen, Jr. of Williamson, West Virginia; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Clifford retired from the coal mines in Pike County, Kentucky, and was of the Pentecostal faith. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 23, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Louis Fields officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers: Charlie McIntosh, Bobby Layne, Greg Smith, Terry Thorpe, Josh Smedley, Michael Smith, and Matt Maynard. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Monday, October 22, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. Visitation: Monday, October 22, 2012, after 5 p.m. Funeral: Tuesday, October 23, 2012, at 11 a.m. Interment: Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens
