Obituary

Rev. Clayton Donald Stacey, age 80, of Big Perry Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2011, at his residence. Born November 9, 1931, in Rowan County, Kentucky, Clayton was the son of the late Oll and Iva Kinder Stacy. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Chester Stacy and Earl Stacy, and two sisters, Louella Lambert and Loretta Hickerson. On September 9, 1950, Clayton was united in marriage to his wife of 56 years, Bessie Thompson Stacey, who passed away on March 25, 2007. He is survived by two daughters, Diana Whitt of Morehead, Kentucky, and Donna Meek of Killeen, Texas; five grandchildren, Kelli Fraley, Kristi McKenzie, Jaime Brown, Kevin Dale, and Stacey Batchelor; 13 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandson. Also surviving are three brothers, Hubert Stacy of Mansfield, Ohio, Glen Stacy of Georgetown, Ohio, and Roy Stacy of Sharpsburg, Kentucky; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. Clayton was a well-known self-employed brick mason. A minister for nearly 50 years, he and Bessie founded the Rock Fork Gospel Tabernacle. Following his tenure as pastor at Rock Fork, he and Bessie attended the House of Prayer. Clayton also continued to preach in various churches and will be remembered as a dedicated teacher of the Bible. He loved his God and his family and held them close to his heart. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Winston McClurg officiating. Burial will follow in the Stacey Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steve Hall, Ed Dehart, Darrell Logan, D. J. Logan, Paul Basford, and Steve Dailey. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. Visitation: Tuesday, November 22, 2011, after 5 p.m. Funeral: Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at 2 p.m. Interment: Stacey Cemetery
