Clayton Puckett, age 72, of Dry Branch Road, Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2012, at his residence. Born April 7, 1940, in Rowan County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Frank and Monnie Belle Sparks Puckett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Marvin Puckett, and four sisters, Linda, Geneva, and Diana Puckett and Elma Gertrude Puckett Irvin. Clayton is survived by his wife of 54 years, Wilma Kathleen Cole Puckett, whom he married April 5, 1958; four sons and daughters-in-law, Tony Wayne and Lisa Puckett, Darrell Ray and Helen Puckett, Billy Joe and Rebecca Puckett, and Clayton Howard and Thelma Puckett, all of Olive Hill, Kentucky; one daughter, Anna Reeves of Olive Hill, Kentucky; 18 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren. Other survivors include three brothers, Jimmy Puckett of Morehead, Kentucky, Robbie Puckett of Soldier, Kentucky, and Mike Puckett of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; four sisters, Violet Fields of Demopolis, Alabama, Pauline Brewster, Jackie Howard, and Yvonne Sue Puckett, all of Morehead, Kentucky; a host of nieces and nephews; and other family members. Clayton was a former employee of J. C. Wells sawmill and member of the Church of God. Funeral services will be conducted10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 27, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Ray Glover and the Rev. William Logan officiating. Burial will follow in Puckett Family Cemetery on Dry Branch Road, Olive Hill, Kentucky. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
