Obituary

Claudia May Gallagher Carmichael, age 67, of Clarks Run Road, Maysville, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2025, at UK Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington.

Born February 10, 1958, in Maysville, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Cecil Gallagher and Frances Delores Ross Gallagher. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 23 years, Ernest Roy Carmichael, on February 3, 2021; grandson, Blaine Pollitt in 2010; two brothers, Frankie Thomas Gallagher and Eugene Gallagher; and a brother-in-law, Rick Helphenstine.

Claudia is survived by one son, Scotty Roy Carmichael (Gabriella Nedelman) of Maysville; three daughters, Claudia Lynn Pollitt (Jimmie Alberton) of Maysville, Felicia Ann Tuel (Christopher) of Maysville, and Tasha Nicole Campbell (Billy) of Flemingsburg; nine grandchildren, Brianna Tuel, Tyler Tuel, Vada Tuel, Gracie Tuel, Amber Campbell, Kaiden Campbell, Hunter Carmichael, Levi Carmichael, Asher Carmichael, and another grandchild expected in May.

Also surviving are four brothers, Clarence Gallagher (Darlene) of Hillsboro, Larry Gallagher and David Gallagher, both of Bath County, and Paul Gallagher (Melissa) of Knott County; four sisters, Elizabeth Helphenstine of Flemingsburg, Verna Garrett (Don) of Alexandria, Indiana,  Mary Black of Morehead, and Deborah Roland (William) of Mt. Sterling; two brothers-in-law, Randall Carmichael of Wallingford and Justin Carmichael of Maysville; several nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends.

Claudia was a homemaker and attended Church of Sharkey and Petersville Church of Christ in Lewis County, where she was baptized. She enjoyed sewing, working jigsaw puzzles and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren.  Claudia will be sadly missed and her memory cherished by her remaining family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 12 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Randall Carmichael officiating.  Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery on Route 68 in Maysville.

Pallbearers: Jeff Craig, TC Harper, Tyler Campbell, Tyler Tuel, Brianna Tuel, Eli Mitchell, James Razor, and Billy Campbell. Honorary pallbearers: Raymond Pollitt and Chris Tuel.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
