Obituary

Claude Adkins, age 67,of Valley Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2007, at his residence. He was born October 22, 1939, in Elliott County, Kentucky, and was the son of the late Dona and Lula Gibbs Adkins. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Ivory Keeton He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Vivian Mae Hitch Adkins; two daughters, Brenda Parker and husband Jeff and Linda Skaggs, one son, Claude Gregory Adkins; one grandson, Joshua Parker and one granddaughter, Sarah Parker, all of Morehead, Kentucky. Other survivors include one sister, Elva Dean Prater and her husband Billy of Sandy Hook, Kentucky; four brothers, J. C. Adkins and wife Della of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, Emory Adkins and wife Linda of Springfield, Ohio, Dona Adkins, Jr. and wife Madeline of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, and Eugene Adkins of Sandy Hook, Kentucky. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Claude was a former employee of Larry-s Marina and a retired self-employed marine mechanic. He served his country in the U.S. Army for seven years during the Vietnam War Era. He was a member of the House of Prayer. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2007, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Winston McClurg, Rev. Eugene Haney and the Rev. Carl Griggs officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with full military rites conducted at the graveside by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126. Pallbearers will be Jeff Parker, Joshua Parker, Bucky Keeton, Darrel Hitch, Paul Prince, and Robbie Strausbaugh. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Thursday, July 12, 2007, at Northcutt & Son Visitation: Thursday, July 12, 2007, after 5 p.m. Funeral: Friday, July 13, 2007, at 1 p.m. Interment: Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens
