Obituary

Clarence Edward 'Bill' Epperhart, age 89, of Flemingsburg Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Monday, October 29, 2012, at his residence. Born March 8, 1923, in Manbar, West Virginia, he was a son of the late Wheeler Preston Epperhart and Nellie Gray Barker Epperhart. He was also preceded in death by an infant son, Richard Wayne Epperhart on December 29, 1948; a grandson, Christopher Epperhart on November 23, 2003; one brother, Elmo Epperhart; and two sisters, Mildred Eileen Epperhart and Helen Taylor. Bill is survived by his wife Betty R. Owens Epperhart, whom he wed October 12, 1946; five daughters, Beverly Williams and husband Duke, Linda Epperhart, and Deborah Netherly, all of Morehead, Kentucky, Janice Houston of Cleveland, Tennessee, and Kimberly Hunt and husband Douglas of Ashland, Kentucky; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter. Other survivors include three sisters, Irene Lewis of Nashville, Tennessee, Jean Stevens of West Alexandria, Ohio, and Connie Allen of Dayton, Ohio; nieces and nephews; other relatives; and friends. Bill was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He was a retired farmer and self-employed truck driver, having been a driver for Eldon Evans, Bill Fannin, and Harold White lumber companies. He attended Mt. Pisgah Christian Church. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, November 2, 2012, at Mt. Pisgah Christian Church with Rev. James DeAtley officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery with full military honors conducted by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126. Pallbearers: Preston Netherly, Jr. Johnson, Jonathan Burke, Joshua Burke, Ben Hancock, Zack Hancock, Wesley Hancock, and Caleb Evans. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Thursday, November 1, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, Morehead, Kentucky.
