Clara Melinda Moore Lewis, age 84, of Henderson Ridge, Olive Hill, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2019, at St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead. Born May 15, 1934, in Elliott County, she was the daughter of the late Fred Moore and Carmie Cassidy Moore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Harrison and Herman Moore, and one son, Timmy Lewis, who passed away April 30, 2011. Clara is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, William Columbus Lewis, whom she married January 25, 1958; four sons, Larry William Lewis, Mickey Lewis, Terry Columbus Lewis, and Billy Richard Lewis and wife Kissimmee; one daughter, Pauline Lewis Eldridge; and a daughter-in-law, Crystal Lewis, all of Olive Hill; 8 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren. Other survivors include two sisters, Irene Hammond of Morgan County and Haley Adkins of Fairborn, Ohio; one brother, Thurman Gene Moore of Sandy Hook; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Clara was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a terrific homemaker, farmer, gardener, storyteller, and quilter; and during her younger years enjoyed singing. Clara's life centered around her family who loved her dearly--and all will miss her greatly. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, April 21, 2019, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals with Brother Jason Litton officiating. Burial will follow in the Lewis Family Cemetery in Carter County. Pallbearers: Matthew Lewis, Anthony Lewis, Michael Lewis, Herman Conn, Richard Lewis, Mark Lewis, Brandon Tharp, and Andrew Eldridge.
