Christy Lynn Howard Hardin, age 37, of Old Flemingburg Road, Morehead, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at her residence after an extended battle with cancer. Born August 7, 1978, in Morehead, she is a daughter of Dorothy Stidham Howard Hamilton of Morehead and the late Thomas M. Howard. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Dorsey and Verna Wescott Stidham and paternal grandfather, Claude Howard. Besides her mother, Christy is survived by her husband of 16 years, Joseph Caliem Hardin, whom she married May 26, 2000; one son, Alex Hardin at home; and two step-daughters, Sydney Hardin and Shelby Hardin, both of Salt Lick. Other survivors include one brother, Derek Howard and wife Lacey of Morehead; one sister, Amber Burns of Morehead; paternal grandmother, Mildred McNabb Howard McKee of Salt Lick; four nieces and nephews, Cooper Howard, Alyssa, Payton, and Alexis Hardin; and father and mother-in-law, Joe and Linda Hunt Hardin of Salt Lick. Christy graduated from Anderson County High School in 1996 and Maysville Community Technical College in 2011 with a business degree. She formerly worked at Family Dollar Distribution Center as human resources manager and Lee's Famous Recipe as manager. Christy loved fishing, boating, swimming, and reading. However, most of all she cherished time spent with her family. Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Sunday, July 31, 2016, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Fannin officiating. Burial will follow in Hardin Family Cemetery in Midland.
