Christopher Berman Skaggs, age 22, of Louisa, Kentucky, formerly of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Friday, June 20, 2025, due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on US 23 in Lawrence County.

He was born May 19, 2003, in Morehead, a son of Christopher Mark Skaggs, who passed away October 2, 2023, and Opal Newsome.

In addition to his mother, Christopher is also survived by his companion, Emily West; nine brothers and sisters, Darlene Newsome, Alexzandria Sparks (Devon), Tyler Cox (Alyssa), Christen Post (Daniel), Ricky Lee Cox, Hayden Skaggs, Maylee Whitney, twins, Mason Skaggs and McKenzie Skaggs; and maternal grandmother, Audrey Newsome.

Other survivors include uncles D. J. Newsome, Berman Ronald Skaggs, Dennis Ray Skaggs (Martha), David Alan Skaggs, Larry Dale Skaggs, Scotty Brian Skaggs, and Terry Michael Skaggs (Evia); aunts Tammy Smith, Earnestine Tackett, Carolyn Sue Henderson, Mary Elizabeth Jessee (Wayne), Sandra Gayle Skaggs, Betty Jo Wallace, and Stephanie Faye Skaggs, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends.

Chris was currently working at Par Roofing Company in West Virginia and loved anything to do with the outdoors.  His favorite activities included kayaking, fishing, hiking, camping, 4-wheeling and spending time with family. Christopher is greatly loved and will be forever missed.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Steve Madden officiating.  Burial will follow at the Bradley Cemetery in Soldier.

Pallbearers will be Tyler Cox, Dustin Spaulding, Dylan Miller, Devon Sparks, Hayden Skaggs, and Tim Law.

Visitation is from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
