Christopher Clay Preston, age 55, of Winchester, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013. Born October 26, 1957, in Morehead, Kentucky, he is the son of Sharlene (Shirley) Crum Preston of Winchester, Kentucky, and the late James Glenn Preston, Jr., who passed away July 9, 2008. Besides his mother, Clay is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Carrie Caudill and William of Winchester, Kentucky, Michelle O'Hair and Robert of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, and Dawn Smith and William of Saint Paul, North Carolina, and three grandchildren, Dakota Smith, Kaitlyn Smith, and Aiden Caudill. Also surviving are two brothers, James Glenn Preston III and Marilyn Russell of Richmond, KY; and Jamie Peyton Preston and Melinda Parks of Winchester, KY; one sister, Lee Ann Preston Sheehy and husband Rick of Versailles, KY; maternal grandmother, Mabel Sturgill Elks of Louisville, Kentucky, extended family and friends. Clay was a former restaurant manager and scuba diving instructor. He enjoyed boating, especially at Dale Hollow Lake, and traveling. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2013, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Harley Sexton, Jr., and Denny Morgan officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Mausoleum with full military honors by Morehead American Legion Post 126.
