Christopher Mark Skaggs, age 44, of Clearfield, passed away Monday, October 2, 2023, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He was born December 30, 1978, Morehead, a son of the late Berman Skaggs and Betty Faye Binion Skaggs.  Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry Keith Skaggs and Jeffrey Lee Skaggs, and a sister, Ellen Rose Skaggs.

Chris is survived by six children, Christen Skaggs (Daniel Post) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Christopher Skaggs of Louisa, Hayden Skaggs of Grayson, Maylee Skaggs of Shepherdsville, and twins Mason and McKenzie Skaggs of Olive Hill; expecting a grandson John in December; his companion, Tina Gilliam of Elliott County; and very special Pitbull "Winter".

Other survivors include six brothers, Berman Ronald Skaggs, Dennis Ray Skaggs (Martha), David Alan Skaggs, Larry Dale Skaggs, Scotty Brian Skaggs, and Terry Michael Skaggs (Evia), all of Morehead; five sisters, Carolyn Sue Henderson (Christopher Burriss), Mary Elizabeth Jessee (Wayne), and Betty Jo Wallace (David Schatz), all of Morehead, Sandra Gayle Skaggs of Olive Hill, and Stephanie Faye Skaggs of Grayson; and a host of nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends.

Chris was currently working at Toyota in Georgetown and was a former telecommunication technician. He loved fishing and enjoyed flower gardening, hiking, and spending time with family. Chris is greatly loved and will be forever missed.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, October 8, 2023, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Clifford "Tippy" Price officiating.  Burial will follow at the Bradley Cemetery in Soldier. For those who prefer to participate virtually, the service will be live streamed at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Facebook page beginning at 2 p.m.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
