Cheryl Lee Metcalf, 65, of North Wilson Avenue, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2011, at her residence. Born October 8, 1945, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, she is the daughter of B. Leah Mangulis of Morehead, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Marlo Mangulis, and her husband, Capt. Dwight Metcalf. In addition to her mother, survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Benson Dilg of St. Louis, Missouri; a sister, Janis Lea of Morehead, Kentucky; three grandchildren; and a nephew, Jude Grinpas of Park City, Utah. Ms. Metcalf was a flight attendant for the Flying Tigers and was later a zoning inspector for Pinal County, Arizona. A supporter of Saving the Animals of Rowan (STAR), she loved all animals, especially her two cats and Buster, her latest rescue dog. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
