Charlotte June Thomas Earhart, age 66, of Winchester, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2014, at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, California. She was born June 9, 1947, in Rowan County, Kentucky, daughter of the late John Carl Thomas and Louella M. Ward Thomas. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by brother Ruben Franklin Delano Thomas (January 19, 2006) and sister-in-law Juanita Skaggs Thomas (September 4, 1997); brother Dr. Robert Jerome Thomas (June 18, 2010); and son AG-1 Edward Thomas Earhart (September 11, 2001). Mrs. Earhart is survived by a spouse, Thomas Edward Earhart of Dayton, Ohio; two daughters, Andrea Stauter of Winchester, Kentucky, and April Horton and husband Aaron of Patterson, California; two brothers, Les Thomas and wife Toni of Spruce, Michigan, and John W. Thomas and wife Rhonda of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; one sister, Claudette L. Thomas of Harrisville, Michigan; one sister-in-law, Lorna Thomas of Morehead, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Laurel Stauter and Blake Schaffer; and various nephews, nieces and great nieces and nephews. In addition to being extremely family oriented, Charlotte was in the Morehead Chapter No. 227 Order of the Eastern Star and Mothers Club of the Cave Run Chapter DeMolay, and participated in other Masonic affiliates. She also received the Knights Templar Grand Encampment 'Companion of the Temple Award' and was a Gold Star Mother. Charlotte graduated from Lee M. Thurston High School in 1965 in Redford, Michigan, and Virginia Farrell School of Cosmetology in Detroit, Michigan. Charlotte married Thomas Edward Earhart on June 14, 1969. Faithful wife, loving mother, sister, grandmother and loyal friend to many people, Charlotte was multi-talented and had many jobs in different fields. In her lifetime she was a homemaker, hairdresser, floral arranger, retail associate, janitorial worker for the US Navy, State of Kentucky road crew worker, and elder caregiver. She was a resident of Winchester for five years living with her eldest daughter, Andrea Stauter. She was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church of Morehead, Kentucky, and New Life Assembly of God, Winchester, Kentucky. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Dick VanHuss officiating. Burial will follow in the Hamilton Cemetery. Brothers, son-in law, nephews and cousins will serve as pall bearers. Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2014 and Tuesday, March 18, 2014, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. Eastern star services will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, March 17, 2014, by Morehead Chapter No. 227 Order of the Eastern Star. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to HCTC/Lees College Edward T. Main, Suite 2, Morehead, KY 40351. Visitation: Monday, March 17, 5 -9:30 p.m. Eastern Star Services, 7:30 p.m. Funeral: Tuesday, March 18, 11 a.m. Interment: Hamilton Cemetery
