Charlotte Alfrey Raines, 84, of Goshen, Ohio, widow of Clyde Raines, passed away Monday, March 9, 2026, at Bethesda North Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.
She was born November 3, 1941, on Beaver Creek in Frenchburg, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Harvard Clay Alfrey and Mildred Robinson Alfrey. In addition to her parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Metze and her husband Robert Metze; an infant brother, Clay Alfrey; and her beloved husband of 41 years, Clyde Wayne Raines.
Charlotte is survived by two sisters, Yvonne Alfrey Quesinberry of Morehead, Kentucky, wife of the late John Quesinberry, and Debby Dean and her husband Ed Dean of Cincinnati, Ohio; two nephews, John Quesinberry (Dana) of Morehead, Kentucky, and Harvard Bourque (Kelly) of Beverly Hills, Florida; one great nephew, Will Quesinberry (Shelby) of Morehead, Kentucky; two great nieces, Maggie Whitman (Jordan) of Georgetown, Kentucky and Charlotte Bourque and her fiancé Timothy Dorman of Gulfport Mississippi as well as other relatives and friends.
Charlotte retired from Fechheimer Brothers Company in Cincinnati, Ohio, after more than 30 years of service as a computer operator. She absolutely loved every minute she could spend with her family, especially her cherished sisters. Charlotte also enjoyed tending to the flower gardens around her home during the spring and summer months. During the colder months, a puzzle could almost always be found spread out on the table. Charlotte loved life and was always quick to share a funny story in a way only she could tell it. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
