Obituary

Charles Frank Whisman, age 93, of Island Fork, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, April 29. 2012, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. Born December 28, 1918, in Rowan County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late James Melvin and Elizabeth Hamm Whisman. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by nine sisters; three brothers; and three daughters, Rosemary Huntsman, Lorene Brickles and Ethel McDowell Brewster. His first wife, Lucy Plank Whisman passed away in 1941, and his second wife, Mary Mauk Whisman in 1963. Frank is survived by two daughters, Jane Sparks and husband Ora of Morehead, Kentucky, and Deborah Kay Conn and husband Harvey of Olive Hill, Kentucky; 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter. He was a lifelong farmer and enjoyed woodworking. He was of the Baptist faith. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, May 3, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Elder Cephas Littleton officiating. Burial will follow in the Whisman Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Delmas Mauk, Frank Sparks, Kevin Conn, Brent Conn, Tracy Pettitt, and Phillip Keeton. Visitation is after 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. Visitation: Wednesday, May 2, 2012, after 6 p.m. Funeral: Thursday, May 3, 2012, at 11 a.m. Interment: Whisman Cemetery
