Charles Lee
Moore
Jul 29, 1951 — Apr 15, 2019
Charles Lee Moore, age 67, of Church Street, Salt Lick, passed away Monday, April 15, 2019, at U.K. HealthCare in Lexington. Born July 29, 1951, in Lawrence County, he was a son of the late William Jay Moore and Dixie Gene May Moore. Charles Moore, a real "Salt Licker," passed away after a short illness on Tax Day. In life, Charlie believed in doing everything in a big way and in large quantities-after all-his last name is Moore! Charlie was a proud MSU Sigma Phi Epsilon alum and is known to generations of brothers in that fraternity. Ever an artist, Charlie loved spreading Christmas cheer through custom decorations in town, at the family hardware where he worked and managed, and in places as far flung as Cincinnati. Charlie is survived by his brother, Jay B. (Julia) Moore; nephews, Jonathan Jay (KaraBeth) Moore and Jeffrey Irwin Moore; great niece, Elizabeth Lee Moore; great nephew, Jonathan Jay Moore II, all of Lexington; and Uncle Bill May of Lawrenceburg. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Todd Nelson officiating. Interment will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, April 22, 2019, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the J. B. Blakeman Scholarship Fund, MSU Foundation, 121 East Second Street, Morehead, KY 40351. View or sign guestbook at www.northcuttandson.com
