Charles Deward Foster, age 84, of Upper Lick Fork, Clearfield, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2012, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, Kentucky. Born May 27, 1928, at Bangor, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Roy and Nannie Peyton Foster. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Edith Gregory Foster, on August 17, 2004, and a daughter, Debbie Goodfriend, on December 31, 1999. Charles is survived by son Jeff Foster of Winchester, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Rita Foster, Daniel Goodfriend, Ben Foster, and William Perry; three great grandchildren, Haley Goodfriend, Luke Foster, and Lily Foster; and caregiver, Brenda Lee Stevens. Charles served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, was an employee of the Bluegrass Army Depot for 12 years and the Marine Air Base in Cherry Point, North Carolina, as an aircraft mechanic. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, trapping, and ginseng hunting. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, August 10, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Harold Owens and Rev. Andy Lands officiating. Burial will follow in New Alfrey Cemetery with full military honors by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126. Pallbearers: Rita Foster, William Perry, Ben Foster, Daniel Goodfriend, Wayne Stevens, and Dustin Stevens. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Thursday, August 9, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, Morehead, Kentucky. Visitation: Thursday, August 9, 2012, after 5 p.m. Funeral: Friday, August 10, 2012, at 11 a.m. Interment: ew Alfrey Cemetery
