Charles E. Conn, age 78, of Tackett Branch, Morehead, passed away Saturday, November 7, 2015, at King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland. Born February 8, 1937, in Elliott County, he was a son of the late Frelon and Myrtle Mabry Conn. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Christine Dillon Conn, on May 7, 2005, and one sister, Beverly Caudill. He is survived by three daughters, Linda Moore, Kathy Mays, and Susie Moore, and one son, Danny Austin, all of Morehead; one brother, Archie Conn of Walnut Grove, Missouri; one sister, Betty Holmes of Springfield, Ohio; nine grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Charles served in the United States Army and Army Reserves during the Korean Era and was a retired truck driver. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Archie Conn officiating. Burial will follow in the Trent Cemetery on Rainbow Road with full military honors by Morehead American Legion Post 126. Pallbearers will be Adam Barker, Tommy Mays, Jeremy McCleese, Isaac Moore, Daniel Austin, Joshua Austin, Danny Austin, and Jimmy Justice.
