Charles Edward Cassidy, age 86, of Park Hills, Morehead, passed away Friday, June 17, 2016, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington. He was born September 24, 1929, in Mt. Carmel, a son of Andrew Dennis and Blanche Clary Cassidy. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, James, Malcolm S., John, Ray, Robert, and Samuel Cassidy. Charles is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Susie Marie Thompson Cassidy; one brother, Howard Cassidy of Lexington; nieces and nephews; extended family; and friends. Charles was a World War II and Korean War U.S. Army veteran. He served proudly as a Military Police and participated in the Occupation Force Japan and Berlin Germany Airlift. Charles retired from Guardian in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, after 20 years of service. He enjoyed walking, fishing, collecting antiques, traveling, and sharing stories about his life. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Clifford Muse and the Rev. Jared DeAtley officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery with full military honors presented by W.N. Fant American Legion Post No. 5 and Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834. Pallbearers: Malcolm Cassidy, Keith Messer, Tracy Cassidy, Dale Bryan, Bill Jones, John West, Christian Cassidy, and Austin Cassidy. Honorary pallbearer: Howard Cassidy Visitation is 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, June 20, 2016, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead. Visitation: Monday, June 20, 2016, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Funeral: Tuesday, June 21, 2016, 1 p.m., Northcutt & Son Memorial Chapel Interment: Mt. Carmel Cemetery
